The concept of No Boundaries began in the fall of 1998.  The reasons for starting the business venture were many. From a personal standpoint, the venture or adventure (as we call it) was a way to earn an honest living on a local basis.  Being raised in this area,  we have no desire to live elsewhere.  We are proud to call Washington home.

The business name, No Boundaries, was selected to reflect the type of products and services we planned to offer to our customers.  We wanted a store whose product line had no boundaries...products with options...products that reflect the customer as an individual…products that bring out the creativity in us all.  We wanted a store that was unique, but most importantly, we wanted a store that was fun!  We began to brainstorm on what products would best represent the name, while remaining unique to our area and reflecting our own interests.  We have always enjoyed tackling creative projects like finishing unfinished furniture and even attempting to build our own furniture (the latter not being so successful, but was fun trying).  We also enjoy outdoor recreational activities like camping, white water rafting, canoeing and most importantly, kayaking.

We decided to test the waters with unfinished furniture first.  It is product line that represents the No Boundaries name well.  When buying unfinished furniture, it can be finished in countless ways.  The possibilities are endless.  There are no boundaries! Additionally, with unfinished furniture, one can see the quality of construction.  Our product offering is constructed of solid wood, not MDF or particle board masked by an adhesive finish that will eventually peel or flake.  Most importantly, the majority of unfinished furniture manufacturers still operate right here in the United States.  Anything that keeps jobs in the USA is a worthwhile venture in our opinion.

We knew, once the business got off the ground, that we would venture into other avenues like outdoor recreation and expanding our line of home furnishings.  It was going to be a slow process, but worth the wait.  After years of dreaming, saving, planning, a little sweat and tears…No Boundaries became reality.  On April 8, 2002 our store quietly opened its doors.  We had a small showroom in a building shared with an auto salvage company, known well, by locals, as Carlton’s Salvage.  It is a unique business situation, I know..., but where else can you go to find a transmission, have it installed and shop for home furnishings all at the same time...truly "No Boundaries"!

In the summer of 2003, No Boundaries introduced its first line of outdoor recreation products.  We became an official dealer for “Ocean Kayak” brand kayaks.  This was the beginning of our efforts in becoming an outdoor recreational center for our area.  We hope to continue expanding our line of kayaks and have plans to venture into some new territories in the near future…we will all just have to wait and see.

No Boundaries still has much room to grow in both our Home Furnishings and Outdoor Adventures lines.  We are currently in the process of expanding our showroom and hope to be in the new addition within the next few months.  In the meanwhile, we will continue our efforts in providing quality products and services to our customers.  We hope you will stop by our store sometime to say “Hello” and browse our product lines!  No purchase necessary.
